Superhero Staying Fit Download

We did the Staying Fit download at our meeting on Friday. From a leaders standpoint, the badge is a great way to harness the active energy of the juniors. The girls loved taking turns leading stretches and moving through the aerobic circuit. The discussion about stress turned in to a great conversation with many ideas coming up on how to deal with stress. The girls also discussed where some stress came from and why some stress was okay as long as it is managed. Finally the girls had fun tossing the dice they made around to cool down from this active meeting. Our suggestions for this badge is to do it on a nice day where the girls can go outside or someplace where you have a lot of room to move. We had to do some of the activities in shifts because of a large group in limited space. The other suggestion is to include conversations about the importance of water and have water bottles available. The girls will get tired and will want multiple drinks. Overall, the MakingFriends Staying Fit badge download was a hit. The juniors want to modify some of the activities for our daisy troop and teach them tips for staying healthy.
